The carriers themselves have soft rubber padding on the top and on the bottom. So not only is it going to absorb the vibration even as we are on the road. It’s also going to protect our skis and snowboards’ finish

Thule Snowboard Rack INSTALLATION:
Now that we’ve gone over the features, we’re going to go ahead and show you how to get it installed
There are two ways to go about installing this on your roof rack.
Now there are two ways to go about installing this on your roof rack. You can use the t-slot method or you can use the clamp method.
We’re going to show you both. So let’s go ahead and hop up there. So I’ll go ahead and show you the t-slot method first.
Now, normally what you would do is measure out and cut your strips to fit around your T- bolts. But for today’s demonstrations, we’re going to go ahead and just remove the whole Strip.
So, what you want to do, you can go ahead and remove your end cap pull that strip all the way up set that aside for. Now grab your T- bolts and slide those on and the channel here. Then you just replace your end cap.
Now you can grab one of your carriers and you’ll need to install the feet on the underside. So you grab the smaller block and you just clip it on and align the holes.
Now it’d be the time you can set it on your T-bolts. Now if you want your carrier to be a little bit taller on your load bars, it also includes another height to go on your block here.
So it’s pretty easy just clip on like that and that be for your thicker boards or your thicker skis if you choose to use the block extension.
As you see there you’ll need to use the longer T- bolt but you’re just going to use the shorter ones.
You’ve got standard skis and snowboards. You’ll just spread out your t-bolt a little bit and then put it in position just like that.
So, now with that position on your T- bolts let’s go ahead and open up your carrier and your padding can be released from the right and then drawn over to the left. So just kind of pull that out and underneath.
That’s going to reveal your T- bolts you get your padding all the way up and once you’ve got that out of your way, you can grab two levers or screws and tighten that down. You’ll just loosely install it for now.
Until you get the other one started and then you can tighten them down evenly.
Another thing you want to do is make sure that you have your carrier positioned the way you want it on your load bar. So I’m gonna push mine in just a little bit about right there and then finish tightening that down.
Once you’ve got them tightened down you can just push your lever on the inside of the carrier there.
Then you’ll just replace your pad, and push it back down in the slot but you can close it up for now and then all that you would need to do is repeat that same process on the rear bar and then you’ve got it.
Now for our clamp method, it assembles just a little bit differently no blocks go on the bottom just the clamp.
So, you’ll open up your carrier, you’ll pull your pad to the side just as you did before. Then you’ll take your clamp. And the bolt is going to go through the bottom hole. Once you get it through there you’ll take one of your thumb screws or your levers and thread that on.
Now I just want to make sure that your clamp remains horizontal as you see there get that all the way tightened up then push it down inside The carrier.
Then you just need to put on another clamp down here. Now with both clamps installed you’ve gone ahead and replaced our padding within the carrier and it’s really quite easy to get it on the bar.
You don’t need to remove the rubber strip. Because you’re not using a t-slot so undo your clamps set them right on top of the load bar and the straps just go underneath.
Once they’re underneath you just clamp them onto the other side and then you could tighten it down then you could just grab your keys and lock your clamp.
Now all you have to do is repeat the same process on the rear load bar. With both carriers installed, it’s a good idea to make sure that they’re parallel and in line with one another. That way you can get the most out of the carriers themselves.
That way your boards and skis sit evenly. So, with that being said let’s go ahead and load some boards and skis.
The first thing you need to do is open them up. So You’ll come up with your first set of skis and scoot them all the way to the other side.
That way you have room for the rest of your accessories. Then you’ll grab another set and go right up next to them let’s make sure that they’re not touching.
That looks good. It’s the same thing here let’s come up and scoot it all the way making sure you have plenty of room then you can bring your last board up and put it in position.
That looks pretty good. You can close them up and you’re looking for two clicks so there’s your first one give it a good push. For your second one the same for the rear with those in place.
Now you can lock them up and hit the road here on your test course let’s first go under your Slalom. This is going to show side-to-side action such as going around corners or evasive maneuvering.
Then onto your alternating speed bumps, this is going to show a twisting action such as going over potholes or uneven pavement. Then finally onto your solid speed bumps. This is gonna show an up-and-down action such as pulling in and out of a driveway or out of a parking lot.
